Job Title: Account Manager or Account Representative 
Department: Midwest Sales Region Team 
Location: Chicago MSA/Central IL.    

 

  

 

Statement of Position for

 Account Representative

The Account Representative may be an entry level sales position reporting directly to a Senior Account Manager (SAM), State Manager, or Regional Sales Manager (RSM).  The Account Representative may share account responsibilities with an Account Manager and will normally have limited experience in the mortgage lending or mortgage insurance field.

 Primary Duties of the Position:

  • Responsible for sales calls, MI presentations, coordination of sales calls with RSM, Senior Account Manager or Account Manager within the territory
  • Coordinate and work with Underwriting Offices
  • Assist Manager with communication and coordination of loan offices, underwriters and processors
  • Coordinate work with home office staff
  • Must have working knowledge of all products, services offered by RMIC and Old Republic
  • Provide support for SAM, AM or RSM for National Accounts and Team Accounts
  • Provide strong market intelligence on a quarterly basis to Senior Management ( Top-5)
  • Other duties as assigned by manager 

Job Requirements:

 Education and Experience:

  • Education:  Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Directly-Related Previous Experience:
  • Some experience in the Mortgage lending industry with a Bank, S&L, Mortgage Banker, or another Mortgage Insurer.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Training: 

  • Excellent people skills.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with all levels within a lender's organization from Senior Management to processors and clerical staff.
  • Ability to motivate customers to use RMIC's services within a very competitive environment.
  • Ability to manage and  navigate a large geographical territory
  • Ability to work with RSM to develop a territory coverage strategy ( ATM Part 2 ) and put in consistent effort to execute that plan.
  • Financial responsibilities include managing Business Development Budget.
  • Understanding of the Mortgage lending industry (i.e., loan origination process, loan servicing, secondary market, FNMA/FHLMC, foreclosure procedures, Mortgage Insurance Premiums, etc.).

Statement of Position for 

Account Manager

Responsible for managing of a Sales Territory and for establishing, identifying, securing, growing and retaining profitable business for RMIC.   

Primary Duties of the Position: 

  • This position typically carries full responsibility for the management of a Sales Territory and the accounts within that geographical territory.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing a sales plan that will be consistent with Company goal, complying with all components of Account Territory Management including growth of new accounts maintaining and deepening relationships with existing accounts.
  • Identify and target prospects and follow up on leads.
  • Accountable for knowledge of all RMIC and Old Republic’s products and services and be able to effectively present the correct product to the appropriate customer
  • Target specific ways that potential and existing customers can benefit from RMIC and Old Republic’s products and services. While having appropriate communicate with all parties.
  • Schedule and conduct sales calls on all levels within an account.
  • Develop profitable new business while increasing activity and managing current customers.
  • Coordinate work with Home Office staff and Regional Underwriting offices
  • Build and maintain strong, profitable external and internal customer relationships.  Understand their needs.  Respond quickly, appropriately to their needs.
  • Provide support for National Accounts and Team Accounts as they are identified by Senior Management.
  • Account Manager is expected to be knowledgeable of industry, current events pertinent to the industry and be positioned to provide consultative resources for customers.
  • Ability to follow established Best Practices for Territory Management, expense control and quality initiatives.
  • Ability to provide strong market analysis/intelligence to Senior Management on a quarterly basis ( Top-5)
  • Travel required
  • Other duties as assigned by manager 

 

Job Requirements: 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Two to five years of directly related experience in the Mortgage Lending Industry or Sales

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Strong interpersonal skills in building relationships and a demonstrated ability to influence others
  • Ability to motivate perspective customers within a very competitive environment

  • Ability to remain focused and consistent in effort during long sales cycle.
  • Resourceful in ability to uncover solid Prospects.
