STATEMENT OF POSITION:
Coordinates clients and staff on issues relative to client loss mitigation of insured loans, short sales and claim filing. Supports ECS collection team on issues relating to client collection practice. Coordinates the underwriting, risk and claim departments relative to loss mitigation issues and practices unique to a client. Supports the underwriting staff in client review process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

Manage and maintain current business relationships relative to loss control.

Analyze foreclosures and short sales for lenders and approve, reject or modify.

Ensure that insured loan documentation is complete and correct.

Conduct loss mitigation training on and off-site to both insured general collection employee groups and insured lender/collection management groups.

Contribute to the planning of credit underwriting activities managed by the Company.

Ensure collection components regarding insured consumer loans are being met according to “sanctioned guidelines”.

Implement corporate policies regarding collections of overdue/legal accounts on behalf of the Company.

Implement plans with clients to accomplish changes required to protect the carrier and client relationship.

Perform periodic audits of insured lender’s loan practices to ensure compliance with Company approved policies and procedures in order to control loss experience.

Research documents and lender procedures for processes that impact fraud.

Review guidelines to be sanctioned and sanctioned guideline changes that form a part of the Old Republic Default Insurance Policies when collections are addressed.

Underwrite and negotiate claim payments. Work with claims department in determining eligibility prior to payment.

Use experience to evaluate lender methods to estimate the fair market value of collateral for a mortgage secured loan.

Work with ECS/ORFAC collection department or individual collectors to handle overdue accounts at the legal or client level.

Coordinate with risk management to evaluate elements associated with controlling default.

EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in financial management or business environment.

Knowledge of federal banking laws, bankruptcy statutes and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Three to five years of consumer credit analysis or finance experience.

Three years of risk management/loss mitigation experience preferred but not required.
