STATEMENT OF POSITION:
The Loss Mitigation Specialist is responsible for validating traditional and bulk primary MI claims for assigned servicers, as determined by Team Lead, as well as, monitoring and following up on status of claims. The Loss Mitigation Specialist will also review and settle claims, within set parameters, for assigned servicers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

Validate claims and review for allowable line item expenses, including short sales, third party sales and presales

Validate supplemental claims

Request additional documentation when necessary to complete the Claim for Loss

Review loan payment history on bulk and primary claims to confirm valid coverage at time of default

When applicable, mail MI premium refund and bulk ineligibility letter to servicers and GSE’s
-
Verify status of early payment defaults and investigations on ECI database on all applicable claims
-
Review 218 report weekly to monitor and follow up on outstanding claims pending eviction, documentation requested, BPO’s ordered, and pending investigations

Input property value to potential purchase model to prepare file for loss mitigation review

Review claims with optional guaranty of $30,000 or less, and request claim settlement check in Pass

Review, negotiate and approve presale offers

Provide status updates of claim settlement to customers upon request

Other duties as requested by Team Lead
