Captive Reinsurance
Captive reinsurance structures allow lenders to share both the premium and the risk of mortgage insurance with RMIC. We have a complete department devoted to the analysis, design, and ongiong management and reporting of all risk sharing structures in the market.
RMIC's Captive Reinsurance Programs are designed to allow lenders to participate in the earnings of positively performing books of mortgage insurance. The plans can be designed to meet a range of business needs based upon the lender's business objectives, production channels and desire to assume risk. RMIC offers three structures for reinsurance programs:

Prior to establishing the Reinsurance Company, the lender should determine and obtain the required regulatory approvals. RMIC will assist the lender's counsel in determining the necessary approvals, but the lender must ultimately rely on the opinion of its counsel.
